Managing Your Catalog
How to add and organize your products, services, and menu items so your agent can answer pricing and availability questions accurately.
What the Catalog Is
The catalog is where you define your business's offerings — products, services, or menu items — with structured details like pricing, duration, and customization options. Your agent uses this to answer questions accurately:
- "How much is a men's cut?" → pulls the price from your catalog
- "What haircuts do you offer?" → lists items in the Haircuts category
- "How long does a color treatment take?" → answers with the duration you set
Adding a Catalog Item
- Go to Catalog in the dashboard sidebar
- Click Add Item
- Fill in the details:
- Type — Product, Service, or Menu Item
- Category — group similar items together (e.g., "Haircuts", "Appetizers", "Plumbing")
- Name — the item name
- Description — optional details your agent can reference
- Pricing — fixed price, starting at, price range, hourly rate, per unit, or "varies"
- Duration — for services, how long the appointment takes
- Modifier Groups — customization options (see below)
- Click Add Item
Pricing Types
- Fixed — one price (e.g., $25.00)
- Starting at — base price that may increase (e.g., "Starting at $80")
- Range — min to max (e.g., "$65–$85")
- Hourly — rate per hour (e.g., "$50/hr")
- Per unit — rate per unit you define (e.g., "$3.50/sq ft")
- Varies / Call for quote — no fixed price; your agent will let callers know to discuss pricing
Modifier Groups
Modifier groups are reusable customization options you can attach to multiple items. For example:
- Size (required, pick one): Small, Medium (+$2), Large (+$4)
- Toppings (optional, pick up to 3): Pepperoni (+$1.50), Mushrooms (+$1), Olives (+$1)
Create modifier groups once, then attach them to any item that needs them. A "Size" group created for one pizza applies to all your pizzas.
Categories
Categories group related items. Your agent uses categories to answer questions like "What desserts do you have?" Type a category name when adding an item — existing categories appear as suggestions.
Location-Specific Catalog Items
If you have multiple locations, each catalog item can be assigned to a specific location or kept global. When creating or editing an item, a Location dropdown lets you choose. Items set to "All Locations (global)" are available everywhere. You can change an item's location at any time by editing it.
The sidebar location selector filters what you see — select a location to see only that location's items plus global items.
Editing and Deleting
Click the edit icon on any item to update its details. Click the delete icon to remove it. Changes take effect on the next call.
Active and Inactive Items
Toggle an item as inactive to hide it from your agent without deleting it. Useful for seasonal items or temporarily unavailable services.
